Relationship Manager, Power and Renewables

This is a Full-time position in New York, NY posted June 12, 2021.

The associate-level Relationship Manager will focus most of their time deepening customer relationships by offering, when appropriate, financial solutions with a focus on traditional bank financing and services to organizational customers working in conjunction with a Senior Banker in US Coverage.


The Relationship Manager will oversee and manage the internal processing and cover the day to day activities of a portfolio of existing and prospective key clients that is assigned to him/her within the power and renewables vertical of the US coverage group including conventional power producers, power traders, renewable power developers and operators, associated ecosystem platforms, fuel cell and battery storage developers and energy transition and infrastructure sponsors investing in these areas.


The Relationship Manager will be the primary point of contact for the flow side of these relationships and work in close coordination with Natixis? Senior Bankers, different Business Lines & Product Groups, Strategic Solutions Group, Global Markets Teams and Distribution and Portfolio Management (DPM) teams, ensuring seamless communication, collaboration and reporting to optimize cross-selling.



As a Relationship Manager, responsibilities include the development of in-depth knowledge of the clients, their portfolios, and regular engagement with clients. The Relationship Manager will analyze and evaluate client needs and provides recommendations along with potential strategies for further enhancing client relationship. 

The role will also focus on deal origination of traditional banking products to specified identified clients and support Senior Bankers on strategic/customized opportunities. Supervisory of the development of market research, financial analysis and client presentations.




  • Work with the Senior Bankers and Strategic Solutions Group in developing marketing material, products and transactions for the clients.
  • Managing the execution of client transactions.
  • Performing market research and analysis by monitoring industry trends (transactions, relevant news, research etc.) and provide relevant market color and data and source new trade ideas and present to senior sector bankers.
  • First level of defense of the bank on the credit risk of specific transaction and client?s portfolio.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of strategic products and strategies in approaching clients.

·        Build and manage a database of investor qualifications (and continue to refine and expand operators list) to help organize marketing process, and generate new ideas for IB and M&A.


Client Management:

  • Assist Senior Bankers to manage relationships and portfolio of key clients identified by the Senior Bankers.
  • Ensure client engagement with ongoing review and analysis of client commercial activity and the monitoring of opportunities on clients in collaboration with product lines and other platforms (Global Markets, business lines, etc).
  • Pitch corporate banking solutions and work with business lines to improve our product range coverage.
  • Coordinate the client coverage with the dedicated Senior Banker who will focus on strategic IB situations including the developing IB/M&A ideas to pitch to clients, internal presentations, and other requirements relating to the strategic IB solution including coordinating with other teams.  
  • Preparation of periodic and ad-hoc reports and presentations for internal and external use.
  • Calculation and tracking client profitability on both a transactional and relational basis.
  • Understanding and managing compliance tools for new transactions.
  • Maintain internal relationships with other groups including other FO, product specialists and support teams.
  • Manage credit process together with business lines for mandated deals
  • Coordinate with DPM for distribution and portfolio management related processes for existing and prospective deals


Commercial Banking Portfolio

  • Collaboration with Senior Bankers on ongoing portfolio management needs & the appropriate risk limits, which will include solid understanding of credit analysis on new and existing transactions (financial performance analysis, company valuation, legal documentation review, industry review, and internal rating/ROE calculation) as it relates to coverage related transaction.


The RM will play a key role in the build-up of Coverage in the Americas. Collaborating with Senior Bankers, salespersons and product specialists will give the candidate opportunity to perform a broad variety of missions. The incumbent will directly contribute to the increase in business in the Americas with key sector clients through the development of M&A-IB deals, corporate banking solutions and other products. 


  • Bachelor?s degree in Finance or related
  • 4-8+ years? experience in similar positions in banking or financial services
  • Solid finance / capital markets knowledge, deep understanding of capital markets & banking products suite
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Client-focused; ability to effectively and quickly build relationships and establish trust, respect, competence and confidence.
